My Hallowquest journey begins with establishing a trailhead: understanding where I am today and setting expectations as I go forward, drawing three cards to signify the factors of this course for me.

How am I coming in to the quest?

Sword Nine Night. Under a waning moon is a palisaded fence with severed heads upon its spikes. In a ditch lies a sword.

-- Fear, Guilt, Facing the worst.

What do I hope to achieve by the end of my quest?

III Guinevere (The Empress): Gwenhwyfar sits spinning in a meadow while a white cow grazes nearby. She is Arthur's queen and the guardian of peace and concod in the land. She is the beautiful face of Sovereignty, the Flower Bride, whose consort rules the land, which is why many legends speak of her abduction by would-be rulers.

-- Fulfillment, Health, Harmony, Creative growth

What will I need to be successful?

VII Prydwen (The Chariot): Arthur's ship Prydwen, flying the White Boar standard of Cornwall, takes him and his men on the perilous voyage in search of the cauldron of Pen Annwn, the Lord of the Underworld, that cooks the food of heroes, not of cowards. On this earliest Grail quest the company of Prydwen pass through many trials, but only seven return, including Taliesin and Arthur

-- Achievement, Courage, Determination

The next several days will be a practice in meditation and a daily companions card reading to familiarise myself with them.
